About the role

Tieto Caretech Private Care team is looking for a (Junior) Software Engineer to join the development of healthcare software solutions used in the Finnish healthcare sector.

This role is an excellent opportunity for a software engineer at the beginning of their career who wants to grow their technical skills while working in a meaningful and regulated domain. You will work as part of an experienced development team and gain hands‑on experience with both existing healthcare systems and modern technologies, while contributing to long‑term development and modernization.

Key responsibilities

  • Participate in the development and maintenance of healthcare software solutions
  • Work with existing (legacy) systems and tools, ensuring stability and continuity
  • Implement features, fixes, and improvements under guidance from senior developers
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code
  • Collaborate with system analysts, testers, and other developers
  • Learn and follow healthcare regulations, data protection, and security practices
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum team activities (planning, reviews, retrospectives)
  • Continuously develop your technical skills and healthcare domain knowledge

Required skills and experience

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Some experience in software development (e.g. from work, studies, projects, or internships)
  • Basic understanding of software engineering principles
  • Motivation to work existing (legacy) technologies
  • Willingness to learn and work with technologies that may be new or less familiar, including legacy systems
  • Interest in working in the healthcare sector
  • Good problem‑solving skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Fluent written and verbal Finnish and English

Beneficial experience

  • Experience or studies related to the healthcare sector
  • Familiarity with Finnish healthcare systems or processes
  • Experience with DynamicHealth
  • Basic experience with backend, frontend, or full‑stack development
  • Experience working in an Agile / Scrum environment
  • Experience or studies related to the healthcare sector or finance
