Division

As an IT Newbie, you will join the Group Business Solutions (GBS) division playing a key role in ensuring Euroclear’s competitiveness by delivering reliable and sustainable IT solutions for financial securities markets. Our teams develop new solutions and continuously improve existing applications for both internal and external clients. We deploy changes to production in a controlled and structured manner, ensuring system stability and providing application production support.

Your Role

As a Junior Software Engineer, you will be part of an agile development team responsible for developing new applications and enhancing existing ones. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing coding and testing activities based on design documentation, using modern technologies such as .NET, Java, Cloud solutions, and Kafka, in line with Euroclear standards
  • Documenting program specifications and test cases/results, and discussing them with designers in accordance with internal processes
  • Supporting launch activities under the supervision of a designer
  • Providing support to testing and operational teams for the applications under your responsibility
  • Debugging applications and managing defects when required
  • Progressively taking ownership of components and services through hands-on learning, with guidance from experienced colleagues
  • Producing design documentation for low-complexity changes
  • Working in a multicultural environment from day one, with the opportunity—in the medium term—to coach colleagues, share best practices, and collaborate with teams based in Belgium, Poland, and India. This may include occasional travel to meet peers.

You Have

  • A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in IT, Mathematics, or a science-related field
  • Initial experience in software development (including academic experience)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • A strong curiosity for IT and emerging technologies
  • An interest in finance and capital markets
  • The ability to adapt quickly to an international and diverse organization
  • A strong self-learning mindset and the willingness to continuously expand your technical expertise
