Job Description

Junior Service Advisor, Part-Time, 100% Remote ($28 to $30/hr)

Permanent Part-time, approx. 3 days a week (weekends plus 1 weekday)

Know your way around a house, but ready to hang up the tool belt? Want part-time hours from home now, with a path to full-time next year?

Microworks is hiring a part-time Junior Service Advisor who knows handyman work and loves helping people. You'll talk with homeowners, understand what they need, and get a technician booked. You start with weekends plus 1 weekday, and our plan is for this role to grow into a full-time position next year.

Why You'll Love It Here:

100% Remote

Work from home, anywhere you have a quiet space and solid internet. You'll use your own laptop, and we provide a headset plus a monthly stipend toward your internet and laptop use.

Stay in the Trades, Off the Tools

Put your years of trade knowledge to work without the wear and tear on your body. Your experience is exactly what makes you good at this job.

A Part-Time Schedule You Can Plan Around

3 days a week, 8:30am to 5pm: Saturday, Sunday, and 1 weekday. Regular daytime hours that leave room for the rest of your life.

Steady Pay

$28 to $30/hr, consistent weekly hours, and extra paid shifts when you cover for our full-time Service Advisor.

Calls From People Who Want Your Help

Customers call in because they want to talk to someone who knows the work, and they're ready to book. You spend your day solving problems, not chasing leads.

Room to Grow

Start part-time, learn the role, and move into full-time hours as our company grows. We plan to grow this into a full-time position next year, with more responsibility and a bigger role in shaping how we work.

Onboarding and Mentorship

Full training alongside our full-time Service Advisor on our systems, pricing, and customer process, plus ongoing sales coaching, so you're set up to succeed.

The Work:

Answer incoming calls, ask the right questions, and figure out what the customer really needs. Use your trade judgment to scope the job, decide if it's a half-day or full-day booking, explain our flat-rate pricing, handle questions about price and availability, secure card-on-file details, and put a technician on the calendar. Make outbound follow-up calls, reply to texts, keep our CRM clean, and help keep our service procedures up to date. You'll also pick up extra weekday shifts to cover for our full-time Service Advisor during vacations and sick days.

What We're Looking For:

  • Hands-on trade experience, or experience selling or estimating in the trades (handyman, renovation, carpentry, painting, or similar)
  • Strong general construction knowledge: you can talk drywall, siding, trim, and caulking with a homeowner and know what you're talking about
  • Phone-based sales or customer service experience, with a track record of booking commitments and handling objections
  • Clear, confident communicator with fluent English
  • Comfortable with technology: Google Workspace, CRM software, and online payment tools
  • Available Saturdays and Sundays plus 1 weekday, 8:30am to 5pm, with flexibility to pick up extra weekday shifts for vacation and sick coverage
  • Interested in moving into full-time hours next year
  • Your own laptop, reliable internet, and a quiet place to take calls
  • Good understanding of Lower Mainland neighbourhoods and local home styles is an asset
