InTechnical Asset Support (TAS) — part of Shell’s Projects & Technology organization —you’lljoin a global network of technical specialists who support asset teams across regions, time zones, and disciplines.
From Kraków, you will be an integrated member of subsurface and reservoir engineering teams, helping them accesshighqualitydata, improve workflows, and unlock insights that shape the future of our reservoirs.
TheReservoir Engineer – Junior Data Analyst role is designed forEarly Careers talent who are eager to start a technical path in subsurface engineering.
In this role, you will work closely with reservoir engineering and subsurface colleagues from global assets, helping streamline, document, and improve data management processes related toWell, Reservoir, and Facility Management (WRFM)
You will support assets by preparing reservoir performance data, integrating subsurface information, improving data quality, and contributing to analyses that support decisions on reserves, production forecasting, and resource maturation.
This is an excellent opportunity to builda strong foundationinreservoir engineering, data analysis, and upstream operations , while working in a collaborative, international environment.
What you will do
Collaborate with global assets
Work closely with Reservoir Engineers and asset teams to provide reliable access to datarequiredfor reservoir studies, reviews, and performance analyses.
Capture and update key reservoir properties, fluid data, pressure data, and other subsurface inputs.
Support WRFM and annual reporting cycles
Assistin preparing data for WRFM reviews.
Support annual internal and external reporting workflows.
Contribute to subsurface analytics
Integrate multiple data types (production, injection, pressure, fluid, etc.) to generate meaningful insights.
Build data visualizations usingindustrystandardtools (e.g., Spotfire, Power BI).
Perform data quality checks and coordinate corrections with relevant stakeholders.
Support reservoir engineering workflows
Assistassets with:
▪ Reserves estimation and classification
▪ Decline Curve Analysis (DCA) for production forecasting
▪ Well test interpretation
Engage and contribute to community development
Participate in the global reservoir engineering network.
Share insights, challenges, and improvements.
Support colleagues in subsurface processes and workflows.
What we are lookingfor :
Education
University degree inGeoscience, Reservoir Engineering, Petroleum Engineering , ora relatedtechnical discipline.
Experience
Suitable forFresh Graduates or1–3years of relevant experience in areas such as:
▪ Field Development Planning
▪ Reservoir Studies
▪ Production Forecasting
▪ Subsurface Benchmarking
▪ Annual Reserves Reporting
Technical Skills (required or desirable)
Basic understanding of subsurface data types: production, injection, fluid and pressure data, reservoir properties.
Understanding ofendtoendUpstream Asset Development.
Data management capabilities—identifyingdata sources, assessing data quality, ensuringreliable datasets.
Skills considered an advantage:
▪ Python for data analysis
▪ VBA / Power Query for data integration
▪ Spotfire or Power BI for visualization
Exposure to Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies is beneficial.
Soft Skills
Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, English – B2/C1
Willingness to learn, ask questions, and grow within a global subsurface community.
