Job Description

The Role:

Starting in September 2026, this 3-year apprenticeship role is designed for individuals looking to start a career in finance and reinsurance operations. Working within the Reinsurance Operations team, the apprentice will support the administration of reinsurance accounts, while undertaking the Kaplan Level 4 Professional Accounting Technician (AAT) apprenticeship: Professional Accounting Technician Level 4 Plus | Kaplan UK

The role will also support the Reinsurance Operations team with their account’s validation and administration activities. The individual will be comfortable working independently and as part of the wider team.

We are looking for two apprentices to join the team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Processing of reinsurance accounts, including:
    • Data entry to the Company’s policy and claims administration system;
    • Preparation of treaty claims statements for settlements ;
    • Input of financial entries into the Company’s treaty accounting system.
  • Ensuring that all claim settlement requests processed are financially valid, are of an appropriate data quality, are claimed in accordance with treaty terms, and settled within stated service standards.
  • Support the Reinsurance Operations team in the administration of a portfolio of clients, ensuring all claims and policy data provided by the clients adhere to the agreed treaty terms and conditions, including data quality and service standards.
  • Maintain quality and consistency of process standards and operational controls.
  • Develop and maintain good relations with colleagues across the business.
  • Maintain good relationships with clients.
  • Participate in work-based projects to improve operational processes and data quality
  • Perform ad-hoc administrative tasks to support the team.

About You:

Qualifications Required:

  • Level 3 qualifications (A-Levels, BTEC, or equivalent).
  • GCSE's Grades 9 - 4 (or equivalent)

Experience:

  • No prior work experience required (ideal for school leavers or career starters).
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Inquisitive and analytical mindset and a natural problem solver.
  • Organised, proactive, and able to manage time effectively.
