As a (Junior) Project Manager at Smart Communications, you will play an important role in the Professional Services Department.

Combining your passion for project management, attention to detail and motivation to learn, you will be given the opportunity to support the management of projects with real-world results. As the Smart Communications customer base has some of the largest names in European finance, it can very well be that the results from your projects, will be seen the next time you interact with your financial institution.

You will join our international team of highly experienced developers, project managers, and consultants, with regular cross team collaborations and progressive management methodology to build customized software solutions for our clients based in the financial services sector.

You will not only have your own area of responsibility in mind but will also assess the overall situation at the customer's and identify further potential for Smart Communications.

Who are you?

We are hiring a (Junior) Project Manager to assist in the planning, management and delivery of software development and IT-related projects. As part of the Professional Services project team, you will support the integration and customization of our product suite to ensure that all of your customer’s desires are fulfilled.

In addition to your role in the project teams, you will play an important role in the international PMO team, ensuring that our Professional Services Department runs as smoothly as possible.

You are also passionate about technology and using technology to solve business problems and keeping up to date with the latest technologies, project management methods and trends.

To be a perfect candidate you are looking to progress in your professional project management career, leveraging all opportunities to shadow, support and contribute to the other project managers and teams.

You will use your leadership skills and knowledge of project management to support professional services teams using agile methods and the most effective and appropriate development tools and processes for the project.

Furthermore, as a (Junior) Project Manager, you will be responsible for PMO processes, support of the risk management process in the project, supporting the set-up and management of a projects, preparation of and participation in project meetings, tracking and generating reports on all stages of the project.

The responsibilities of the role include:

  • Supporting in the management of complex consulting, transformation, and software implementation projects.
  • Carrying out PMO processes and monthly financially orientated tasks.
  • Supporting project teams, as well as collaboration in national and international teams.
  • Coordination of processes and tasks in close cooperation with the project managers.
  • Assumption of business orientated activities with appropriate aptitude.
  • Contributing to the improvement of overall project standards and processes.
  • (Perspective) take on more responsibility as a project manager with your own projects and team.

What we're looking for:
Must have skills/experience:

  • Completed studies in (business) computer science, financial mathematics, or comparable education or apprenticeship.
  • Minimum of 1, resp. 2 years of PMO / Project Management experience.
  • Basic knowledge of technical concepts and design of IT applications.
  • Some educational or professional experience in (Agile) project (Portfolio) management and project controlling, ideally also in project management methods.
  • Willingness to take responsibility in the team and to contribute new ideas and improvements.
  • Willingness to travel and very good spoken and written knowledge of German and English language.

Advantageous skills/experience:

  • Computer proficiency.
  • Experience in managing development teams within IT projects.
  • Understanding for the relationship between business and information technology.
  • Agile orientated Project Management.
  • Experience in software development or integration.
  • Foundation Certification in Agile project management (SCRUM, Kanban, Hybrid, etc.) or classic project management (PMI, Prince, IPMA, etc.) is desirable.
