
Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Associate’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher). In lieu of an Associate’s degree, a combination of education and relevant experience totaling two (2) full-time years may be considered. One (1) year of full-time, relevant programming experience using SQL.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field. Experience with software development practices, including Web Services and APIs. Experience with one or more of the following: Linux system administration, scripting and/or application development, OpenStack, Ansible, Terraform, container technologies, GPU/AI software stacks, research-computing workflows.
Brief Description of Duties:
The primary purpose of this position is to assist with daily tasks to help the development team design and produce information technology services software that supports the department. The Junior Programmer will be expected to understand business analysis, support the team by assisting with writing code, troubleshoot identified bugs and help developers adjust previously written code. The incumbent will assist with maintenance and documentation of Software as a service and/or hosted applications utilizing the provided technologies and software development platform.
Assist with building and maintaining pieces of the current and new features of ERP applications utilizing the provided technologies, and software development platform.
In the performance of all job duties, at all times be responsible for delivering optimal customer service, for protecting institutional data and privacy, and the excellent delivery of solutions and services by following divisional and University policies, procedures, and processes.
Assist with pieces of integrations between department systems to help streamline current business operations or system processes while ensuring data security and integrity.
Assist with running reports.
Assist with research on the development of tools.
Assist with documenting applications, reports, interfaces and other elements required to ensure others have sufficient information to support. Track tasks and issues using tracking applications.
Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission.

Special Notes:
This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Non Exempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
In addition to the employee's base salary, this position is eligible for $4,000 UUP annual location pay, paid biweekly.
