Junior Process Design Engineer

Experience Required: Around 2 Years
Department: Engineering / Process Design
Reports To: Lead Process Engineer / Engineering Manager

Job Purpose

We are looking for a motivated Junior Process Design Engineer with around 2 years of experience to support process engineering and design activities for industrial projects. The candidate will assist in developing process deliverables, preparing engineering calculations, and supporting project execution in compliance with company and client standards.

Key Responsibilities

Process Engineering & Design

  • Assist in preparation of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Support process calculations including line sizing, pressure drop calculations, pump calculations, and equipment sizing.
  • Prepare process datasheets for equipment, valves, and instruments.
  • Participate in design reviews, HAZOP studies, and technical discussions.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Civil departments.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable international standards and client specifications.
  • Support preparation of engineering documents, reports, and technical specifications.
  • Assist in reviewing vendor documents and technical submissions.
  • Participate in site visits and commissioning support activities when required.

Documentation & Coordination

  • Maintain engineering documentation and revision control.
  • Support project execution within planned timelines.
  • Coordinate with project teams for technical clarifications and engineering updates.
  • Prepare technical presentations and engineering reports as required.

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering.

Experience

  • Around 2 years of experience in Process Design Engineering.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas, Industrial, Petrochemical, Water Treatment, or EPC projects preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of process engineering fundamentals and calculations.
  • Familiarity with PFDs, P&IDs, and process simulation concepts.
  • Basic understanding of international engineering standards and safety practices.
  • Familiarity with engineering software such as:
    • AutoCAD
    • Aspen HYSYS / Aspen Plus (preferred)
    • MS Office

Soft Skills

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop technical expertise.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to EPC project environment.
  • Knowledge of HAZOP and process safety concepts.
  • GCC project experience will be an added advantage.
