About this Position

The Junior Patent Data & AI Analyst supports
innovation within Henkel Adhesive Technologies by combining patent intelligence
with modern AI-driven analytical approaches.

The role focuses on leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) and other AI
tools to generate insights from patent and scientific data, automate reporting
processes, and improve the efficiency of technology and competitor analyses. In
addition, the position contributes to patent searching and technical
information assessment activities

What you´ll do

  • Design
    and refine prompts for Large Language Models (e.g. ChatGPT and similar AI
    tools) to generate high-quality patent, technology and competitor reports
  • Develop
    and improve AI-assisted workflows for patent analytics and innovation
    intelligence
  • Evaluate
    and benchmark AI-generated outputs for technical accuracy, relevance and
    reliability
  • Analyze,
    summarize and communicate complex technical and scientific information to
    business stakeholders
  • Create
    technology landscapes, trend analyses and competitive intelligence reports
  • Search
    and retrieve information from patent databases, scientific literature and
    online sources
  • Assess
    and evaluate patents, scientific publications and technical information
    relevant to business needs
  • Visualize,
    map and rank search results using agreed methodologies
  • Contribute
    to best practices for the responsible use of AI in Intellectual Property
    and innovation intelligence
  • Collaborate
    with colleagues in Düsseldorf and stakeholders worldwide
  • Support
    Adhesive Technologies with actionable patent and technology insights

What makes you a good fit

  • Master's
    degree in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Informatics, Computer
    Science, Automation and Informatization in Chemistry, or another relevant
    STEM discipline
  • Strong
    interest in Artificial Intelligence, Large Language Models and data-driven
    analysis
  • Experience
    using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot or similar
    platforms
  • Ability
    to critically evaluate AI-generated content and identify inaccuracies or
    gaps
  • Experience
    with patent and scientific databases (Espacenet, Scopus, ScienceDirect,
    Reaxys, etc.) is an advantage
  • Strong
    analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent
    English communication skills
  • Strong
    presentation skills, including the ability to summarize technical
    information clearly and concisely
  • User
    knowledge of MS Office; experience with data analytics or visualization
    tools is a plus
  • Ability
    to organize work independently and meet deadlines

Salary: €1,550 – €2,015 gross per month. The advertised amount represents a starting salary range. The final salary will be determined based on the above criteria and confirmed after the interview process.
