Job Description

Our client, a Tier 1 contractor, is currently seeking a Junior MEICA Engineer to join their team working across Water and Wastewater frameworks in Mitchellstown, Cork. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the delivery of essential infrastructure projects, supporting the mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation elements of works.

To be successful in this role, the preferred candidate will have 1–3 years of experience in the construction or engineering sector, with a strong understanding of MEICA systems and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the delivery of MEICA works across water and wastewater projects.
2. Support senior engineers in managing site activities and technical coordination.
3. Monitor installation and commissioning of mechanical and electrical systems.
4. Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and regulations.
5. Maintain accurate documentation and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
6. Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality.
7. Participate in site meetings and contribute to technical discussions.
8. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues on-site.
9. Support the preparation of method statements and risk assessments.

Requirements:

1. Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or MEICA Engineering.
2. 1–3 years’ experience in a similar role within the construction or utilities sector.
3. Strong understanding of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
4. Excellent communication and organisational skills.
5. Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering software.
