Junior Management Accountant

The role

Supporting the Financial Controller, you'll play a key role in producing accurate financial information that helps leaders make informed business decisions. You'll gain exposure to a wide range of finance activities while developing your technical and commercial knowledge.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing monthly management accounts, including detailed variance analysis and commentary.
• Monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes across the business.
• Assisting with cost control initiatives and identifying opportunities to improve financial performance.
• Partnering with operational and departmental stakeholders to provide financial insights and guidance.
• Developing and maintaining financial models and reporting tools.
• Supporting compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
• Assisting with year-end audits and statutory reporting requirements.
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring data accuracy.
• Providing ad hoc financial analysis to support business projects and strategic initiatives.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to manipulate and analyse large volumes of data.
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with stakeholders at all levels.
• Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to produce accurate financial information, identify discrepancies, and maintain high standards of data integrity.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
• A proactive approach and willingness to learn and develop.

Desirable

• Studying towards ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
• Experience within a finance or accounting environment.
• Knowledge of Power BI or other data visualisation tools.
• Experience using financial systems such as Microsoft D365, NetSuite, or similar.
