Job Description

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Junior Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance team in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our facility and equipment in Hightstown, NJ. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates looking to build a career in maintenance, facilities management, or skilled trades. The Junior Maintenance Technician will assist with preventative maintenance, basic repairs, inspections, and general upkeep of equipment and building systems.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in performing preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facility systems.
  • Support troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building maintenance issues.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and complete assigned work orders in a timely manner.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify potential equipment or facility problems.
  • Perform basic repairs, painting, light carpentry, and general facility upkeep.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized manner.
  • Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times.
  • Assist senior maintenance technicians with equipment installations and larger repair projects.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and completed tasks.
  • Participate in training programs to develop technical skills and industry knowledge.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn maintenance skills.
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

Preferred

  • Previous maintenance, construction, warehouse, manufacturing, or related experience.
  • Technical school, vocational training, or coursework in maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or mechanical systems.
  • Basic knowledge of facility maintenance and repair procedures.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb ladders for extended periods.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to safely perform physical tasks associated with facility maintenance.

Pay Rate: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
