This position is based in Gan Shmuel and reports to the Maintenance & Engineering Manager of Cronos Israel.
About the Role:
As a Junior Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment, you will assist in maintaining the proper functioning of production equipment and facility systems. Working under the guidance of senior technicians and the maintenance supervisor, you will help perform basic preventive maintenance tasks, support troubleshooting efforts, and contribute to minimizing downtime. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals with a technical background who are eager to learn, grow their skills, and gain hands-on experience in an industrial setting.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, IMC -GMP and/or IMC-GAP within manufacturing and cultivation, according to Cronos Israel guidelines.
- Role scope: Production & Packing equipment, Greenhouse's facilities, including irrigation and fertilization, climate control systems and infrastructures, water treatment, lighting, industrial services, measuring instruments.
- Performing maintenance tasks defined by maintenance manager and/or defined by PM annual plan, includes writing of new plans and editing of existing ones.
- Performing tests and qualifying procedures (FAT, SAT, IQ/OQ/PQ) for equipment as needed.
- Troubleshooting of greenhouse faults and assistance to cultivators as needed.
- Report and record of maintenance operations in logbooks or electronic records as required by maintenance procedures.
- Obtaining quotes for purchase orders of spare and/or repair parts, based on technical drawings or other relevant data.
- Working with and escorting visits involving sub-contractors.
- Perform and ensure investigations of deviations in compliance with GAP/GMP requirements.
Perform corrective/preventive actions and repairs.
- Lead maintenance activities in growing zones, propagation, mothers, Indoor, including pumps, fans, and other motor driven systems.
- Maintaining and establishing greenhouse constructions for lighting, irrigation, and other small scale construction activities.
- Lead engineering projects in manufacturing facility and/or greenhouses according to demand.
- Manage and support the facility's needs with general building maintenance tasks.
- Comply with all safety code requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and experience
- Certified Technician or Practical engineer is preferred with irrigation orientation.
- 3 years of experience in maintaining and repairing production and/or packing equipment and Working experience in GMP environment is preferred.
- Accountable, with strong ability to understand and lead projects from end to end.
- Proved experience in maintaining and repairing irrigation systems and climate control systems of agricultural facilities - preferred.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Efficient time management with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Excellent skills in MS office, and computerized systems.
- Knowledge of mechanical/electrical equipment, preventative maintenance programs.
- experience in clean rooms environments – preferred.
- Excellent level in Hebrew and effective ability to understand technical English.
- Strong work ethic with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in-person, over the phone and e-mail.
