  • Work across client disputes, regulatory matters, subpoenas and complex legal issues that shape firm-wide risk decisions at Deloitte.
  • Thrive in an innovative, collaborative people culture
  • Learning roadmaps at every level (virtual, classroom & self-paced)

This is a great opportunity to grow your legal career in Deloitte's Litigation and Disputes team, based in Sydney or Melbourne with flexibility built in.

What will your typical day look like?

You'll work across a broad mix of matters including client disputes and litigation, professional indemnity matters, regulatory issues, third party information access requests, debt recovery and general commercial advice. The work is varied and practical, with plenty of scope to build strong foundations across contentious and advisory legal matters.

Supporting a team of lawyers in the Office of the General Counsel, you'll help provide day-to-day advice to stakeholders across Deloitte's practice groups and Enabling Areas. That means your work will contribute to how the firm responds to legal, regulatory and reputational risk, while giving you exposure to complex issues and senior decision-makers.

This role offers the kind of variety that helps you learn quickly. You'll collaborate with experienced lawyers and internal stakeholders across the business, balancing research, drafting, document review and stakeholder communication in a fast-moving environment.

About the team

The Litigation and Disputes team sits within Deloitte's Office of the General Counsel and works closely with stakeholders across the firm to provide practical, strategic advice on issues and claims that carry legal, regulatory and reputational risk. Based across Sydney and Melbourne, the team supports a wide range of Deloitte businesses, making this a strong opportunity to build breadth, deepen your legal capability and be part of a team that is supportive, high-performing and trusted across the firm.

Enough about us, let's talk about you

You may have all or some of the following skills/experiences:

  • 1 to 2 years' relevant experience in a law firm, in-house legal team, or as a tipstaff or associate
  • Experience drafting legal documents and correspondence, conducting legal research, and supporting document reviews
  • Exposure to or interest in areas such as regulatory matters, third party information requests, technology disputes, corporate insolvency, or confidentiality and privacy obligations
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
  • Good time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to explain legal issues in a practical, accessible way
  • Confidence building trusted relationships with colleagues and internal stakeholders at different levels
