
This Junior Level Software Application Developer position supports the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in the area of Support Services. The mission-critical program provides comprehensive training, safety, standards, curriculum development, and technical modernization services to ensure national border security agents can operate safely and effectively.

What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)
Write Maintainable Code: Assist in writing and refactoring software code for web and desktop applications.
Debug & Test: Partner with QA and Business Analysts to reproduce, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects.
Learn & Apply: Implement industry-standard coding conventions, DevSecOps principles, and learn cloud deployment strategies in AWS.
Collaborate Daily: Actively participate in Scrum standups, backlog grooming, and team learning sessions.
What You Bring (Qualifications)
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of software development experience (professional or internship-level).
Technical Skills: Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a completed Software Development Certificate in lieu of degree.
Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a federal background suitability check.
