We are searching for an experienced Junior Legal Counsel - Compliance at our MSC Service Center Greece - Piraeus facility.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

About the job

MSC is seeking a motivated Junior Legal Counsel to join its Corporate Legal Compliance Team. Based in Piraeus, Greece, the successful candidate will support a broad range of corporate compliance and business ethics initiatives across MSC’s global network, working with colleagues in Geneva and stakeholders worldwide.

Key responsibilities
Support the implementation of MSC's Compliance Program across the MSC Group.
Deliver compliance training and awareness initiatives to MSC Group companies worldwide.
Provide guidance on business ethics matters, including gifts, entertainment, and corporate hospitality.
Conduct third-party due diligence and support integrity, sanctions, and compliance assessments.
Review compliance-related contractual provisions and support discussions with third parties.
Assist with the assessment of compliance requests and questionnaires from customers, vendors, and other third parties.
Contribute to the development of compliance communications, reporting, and awareness activities.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders on ethics and compliance matters across multiple jurisdictions.

Required Qualifications

Qualifications & competencies
-Law degree (LL.B. or equivalent).

-Postgraduate qualifications (LL.M., M.Sc. or equivalent) will be considered an advantage.

-1–3 years of experience in a law firm and/or the legal or compliance department of a multinational organization, with exposure to corporate compliance matters, including anti-bribery, anti-corruption, sanctions compliance, and data protection.

-Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of French and/or Italian will be considered an asset.

-Basic understanding of shipping, logistics, and international trade, or a strong interest in developing expertise in these areas.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior management, customers, suppliers, business partners, and large audiences.
-Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional and multicultural teams.
-High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to ethical business practices.
-Strong attention to detail and dedication to delivering high-quality and accurate work.
-Adaptable, proactive, and commercially minded, with sound judgment and a solution-oriented approach.
