About the role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Legal Counsel to join our team at Marvik, part-time. This entry-level position is designed for a recent law graduate or a lawyer in the early stages of their career who is eager to gain hands-on experience in the IT and technology sector. The role involves supporting the business in contract management, compliance, corporate matters, data protection, and legal operations, reporting directly to the Legal Manager.

Responsibilities

• Contract Lifecycle: Draft, review, follow up on, and archive commercial agreements, including NDAs, MSAs, service agreements, and contracts with clients, partners, and vendors.
• Internal Coordination and Operational Support: Work closely with Growth, Delivery, Finance, and other teams to align legal support with business needs and day-to-day operations.
• Regulatory Compliance: Assist with corporate, regulatory, tax, licensing, and compliance matters across the jurisdictions where Marvik operates.
• Data Protection and Privacy: Support data protection and privacy matters relevant to AI and technology projects.
• Labor and HR Support: Contribute to drafting employment agreements, confidentiality and non-compete clauses, and internal policies.
• Legal Research: Conduct legal research and stay up to date on applicable regulations
• and emerging legal challenges related to AI and technology.

Qualifications

• Law degree, preferably with a focus on commercial, corporate, or technology law.
• 1–3 years of experience in corporate law, contracts, business law, in-house legal teams, law firms, or similar roles. Internships will be valued.
• Basic knowledge of commercial contracts, corporate governance, compliance, labor law, and data protection.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English, given the work with contracts and international counterparties.
• Strong organizational skills, autonomy, and attention to detail.
• Interest in technology and willingness to learn about the legal challenges brought by AI.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with AI tools, both as a user and from a legal or business perspective.
• Previous exposure to IT or technology contracts and data protection frameworks.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Practical, proactive, and business-oriented mindset.
