Only four years after entering the market, Mondu is one of Europe’s leading B2B payments providers. Now live across 30+ markets, trusted by ambitious companies, and operating with an EMI license, we’re expanding our commercial footprint in Europe and beyond.

We are now looking for a Junior Legal Counsel to join our Legal team in Berlin or Amsterdam, initially on a one-year contract. You’ll be given real responsibility from day one, and have the opportunity to learn first-hand how a modern legal team operates and scales. The ideal candidate is a high-potential recent graduate who is eager to roll up their sleeves and grow with us. You don't need years of experience, but you do need the right legal foundation and growth mindset!

🚧 What you’ll do

• Commercial Contract Support Review, draft, and manage foundational commercial agreements, including NDA’s, vendor contracts, and terms of service.
• Legal Operations & Automation Own and optimize our legal tech stack (e-signing tools, contract management software, and internal wikis) to streamline workflows for our product, sales, and engineering teams. Drive the AI innovation in the team forward with your new ideas and initiatives to free up time for the most impactful work.
• Interdepartmental Collaboration Act as the first point of contact for routine legal queries from internal stakeholders, translating complex legal jargon into actionable business advice.
• Start-Up Support Proactively pick up additional legal tasks with mainly a commercial focus as needed; supporting to unblock for future growth and driving new initiatives.

🏅What you need to succeed

• Educational Background: A recent university graduate with a degree in Law (First State Exam, Bachelor of Law, or a Master of Law) with a strong interest in business and technology.
• Language Proficiency Professional fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential, as you will be working daily in our international team, and with international merchants.
• Fintech Curiosity A genuine passion for the intersection of finance and tech and eagerness to learn how we navigate complex regulatory environments.
• Mindset & Soft Skills: A highly organized, detail-oriented approach with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-moving environment. You are a proactive problem-solver who isn't afraid to ask questions.
• Location & Workplace Presence This position is full-time in our Amsterdam or Berlin office, with a hybrid working model of three days in office each week. We love collaborating in person and require in-person presence maximize collaboration with the team and key stakeholders.

It would be nice if you also:

• Additional Languages Business level fluency in German is a strong plus!
