About the Role

Longton Blackwell is seeking a motivated and driven Junior Lawyer (0–2 years PQE) to join our growing Sydney team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career lawyer seeking broad exposure to legal practice and the opportunity to develop their skills within a supportive and collaborative environment.

As a full-service law firm, we operate across a range of practice areas, including Commercial Law, Family Law, Property, Litigation, Employment Law and Wills & Estates.

The successful candidate may be placed within one of several practice groups depending on business needs, experience, and individual strengths, providing valuable exposure to different areas of legal practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research and prepare written advice on a variety of legal matters.
  • Draft correspondence, court documents, contracts, and other legal documents.
  • Assist in managing client files from commencement through to completion.
  • Liaise with clients, courts, government agencies, and external stakeholders.
  • Attend client meetings, mediations, settlements, and court appearances where appropriate.
  • Assist senior lawyers and partners with transactional, advisory, and dispute resolution matters.
  • Maintain accurate file records and ensure compliance with professional obligations and firm procedures.
  • Contribute to the efficient operation and continued growth of the practice.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Admission as an Australian Lawyer (or eligibility for admission in the near future)..
  • Between 0 and 2 years' post-admission experience.
  • Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
