Division: Group Business Solutions (GBS)

Your Team – GBS Collateral Management Tribe

Within GBS, you will join the Collateral Management Tribe. You will be part of a dynamic, collaborative team working in a fast-changing environment, delivering high‑performance Collateral Management solutions to financial institutions.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to start their career in a complex and modern IT environment, supported by experienced colleagues.

Euroclear is investing to modernize its applications to run on a cloud‑ready, OpenShift‑managed Kubernetes container platform.

Our technology landscape combines Mainframe and Java systems and uses Event Hub technologies (such as Kafka) for integration between new services and backend systems. We already have a strong, high‑quality technical stack, providing a solid foundation for learning and growth.

We are looking for a Junior Java Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to our transformation journey while developing their technical and professional skills.

Responsibilities & Duties

As a Junior Java Software Engineer, you will:

  • Work as part of an Agile development team, contributing to the development of event‑based and service‑oriented solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with more experienced developers, the Technical Lead, Solution Architect, application architects and other team members.
  • Contribute to the delivery of end‑to‑end IT solutions that meet functional and non‑functional requirements.
  • Learn and apply Euroclear’s enterprise engineering and architecture standards in your day‑to‑day work.
  • Take part in technical discussions, code reviews and solution walkthroughs as part of your learning journey.
  • Perform hands‑on development using modern Java technologies.

Qualifications

Profile

This role is well suited to a recent IT graduate or a junior developer who is eager to learn, grow technically, and work in a collaborative environment.

Technical Skills

  • Good understanding of Object‑Oriented Design principles
  • Solid foundations in core Java programming (typically acquired through university coursework, projects or internships)

Soft Skills

  • Willingness to learn, ask questions and continuously develop technical skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and participate constructively in peer reviews
  • Clear and positive communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to organise work, respect agreed timelines, and raise issues when support is needed
