Your playing field:

• We love what we do: You will support the development of high-performing Java-based services within a complex system landscape
• You will be involved in the concept, design, and implementation of modern solutions based on Spring Boot while learning from experienced team members
• You will contribute to our evolving technology stack as well as help maintain existing legacy systems
• Together as one team: You will support software projects from the initial idea through to production deployment
• Documentation of software architectures and knowledge sharing will be part of your day-to-day responsibilities
• You will collaborate closely with colleagues across teams, learning from others while contributing with your own ideas
• Your passion for coding, willingness to learn, and interest in code reviews and best practices will help us grow stronger as a team

Qualifications

Which skills you should bring to the pitch:

• University Degree. Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Development Skills. Some hands-on experience or strong academic background in Java (ideally Java 17–21) and Spring Boot, with a passion for learning how to build scalable systems. Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS or Azure) through studies, internships, or personal projects
• Databases. Basic understanding of databases and SQL, with an eagerness to deepen your knowledge in writing efficient queries.
• Containerization & Virtualization. Familiarity with containerized applications using Docker (Kubernetes is a plus).
• Tools & Technologies. Exposure to Git and Maven, with an understanding of how version control and build tools support software development.
• CI/CD. Basic awareness of CI/CD concepts and tools such as Jenkins, ideally gained through studies, internships, or hands-on projects.
• Operating System. Basic knowledge of Linux environments.
• Language. Our team consists of more than 50 different nationalities working together to achieve Tipico's mission. English is the way we communicate within the company.
• Attitude. A strong motivation to learn, grow, and develop your skills in a modern cloud-first engineering environment
