Caribbean Label Crafts Ltd., a member of Goddard Enterprises Limited (GEL) operates three production facilities in Barbados, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic, offering our regional customers design services and premium quality packaging solutions that add value to their brands.

We are looking for a talented individual who shares our values to join our team as a Junior IT Technician. This position reports to the Network Administrator.

THE ROLE:

The key responsibilities of the Junior IT Technician are to assist with:

  • Administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Local and Wide Area Networks across all group locations
  • Installation and configuration of hardware and software
  • Execution of physical deployments, including basic structured cabling, rack organization, and server room optimization
  • Performing checks of network performance, evaluating and optimizing resources to ensure uptime and performance benchmarks
  • Providing support to end-users inclusive of hardware, software, PBX, network or any IT related areas
  • Deployment and monitoring security protocols and policies ensuring users, software and network devices are compliant
  • Maintaining accurate records of network configurations, hardware inventories and technical documentation
  • Executing, monitoring and verifying regular data backups and assisting in disaster recovery testing to ensure business continuity and data integrity
  • Coordinating the scheduled rollout of network-wide software updates and patches to meet organizational security standards
  • Carrying out maintenance and repairs as required

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or other related subject
  • 1-3 years’ experience with computer hardware and networking fundamentals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to think logically and solve problems
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Team player
  • Good presentation skills
  • Programming experience would be an asset
