Job Description

IT Center EMEA consists of three departments: IT Planning (PLAN), IT Development (BUILD), and IT Infrastructure (RUN). IT Development has two competence centers: Madrid and Oostkamp. You will become part of the IT Development team in Oostkamp.

This department consists of 20 internal colleagues, supported by external consultants and an offshore team. The environment is young, dynamic, and collaborative, with a strong team spirit and open communication culture. Together, we develop innovative IT solutions for more than 7,500 Daikin colleagues across Europe and the Middle East.

To support Daikin Europe’s ambitious digital transformation strategy, we have built a modern Data & Analytics ecosystem based on Azure Databricks Lakehouse and Microsoft Power BI. This platform enables advanced reporting, data insights, big data processing, and innovative AI/(Gen)AI initiatives.

We are currently looking for a motivated and eager-to-learn Junior Data & Analytics Project Lead to support and coordinate initiatives related to business intelligence, data analytics, and AI-driven solutions. In this role, you will work closely with senior team members, business stakeholders, and technical experts to help drive data projects across different business domains.

You will contribute to the governance and adoption of Power BI within the organization, support the coordination of analytics initiatives, and help ensure that data solutions deliver value to the business. This role offers a great opportunity to grow into a key position within Daikin’s expanding Data & Analytics landscape.

Job Content

After an extensive introduction and training period, your main challenges will be:

  • In cooperation with the colleagues of IT and the international key users, you will analyse the requirements on management reporting, data insights and data science in a wide range of business areas (manufacturing, logistics, finance, supply planning, sales, master data, R&D, HR,…).
  • You are in charge of the company-wide Power BI platform Governance (+3000 users). You guide the community of business data stewards, inspire and train them and in this way further boost a data-driven culture within Daikin Europe group.
  • You will explore latest functionalities related to report visualisation and Microsoft Fabric. You’ll run proof of concepts to gain experience, drive innovation and proof business value.
  • You will be assigned to lead analytics projects In doing so, you take into account every step of Daikin’s “Project management methodology” to deliver high-quality IT solutions towards business. This will require you to coordinate a team of internal & external IT colleagues and developers.
  • You will work closely together with the Business Analytics team, which is our business counterpart in our Analytics Centre of Expertise. In this role, you strongly support the standardisation & promotion of the pan-European reports & analytics solutions and are in charge of our joint Daikin Europe Governance Framework.
  • You are prepared to present your area of expertise towards key users and management.

For this, you will not only need to follow and explore the future evolutions & trends on analytics (predictive/prescriptive BI, real-time/embedded analytics in S/4HANA…), but also further conceive the Power BI Governance Framework for the years to come.

Profile

  • You have a master’s degree as economist, engineer, computer scientist or equal.
  • You have some experience with Data analytics, (Power)BI is a strong plus
  • You have an analytical & innovative spirit and interest in the company processes; you strive to an optimal use of data in the company.
  • You are established pragmatically, with a strong focus for the most recent IT innovations
  • You have a solution-oriented mind-set and a drive to continuously improve your area.
  • You have the necessary self-discipline to make and follow-up a planning.
  • You are a team player and try to establish and keep a good relationship with both your IT and business colleagues. You have good communication skills and are not afraid to present to groups.
  • You are prepared to occasionally travel to Daikin group companies in Europe.
  • You have analytic and communicative skills in English, Dutch will be a plus.
