Spend your evenings tinkering with Raspberry Pis, home automation, or custom Linux builds? Imagine doing that every day - and getting paid for it.

We're an IoT startup building smart kiosks for autonomous retail, and we need someone who lives and breathes embedded Linux. You'll work hands-on with real hardware — ARM boards, payment terminals, sensors. Formal education doesn’t matter here — proof you can build and fix does. If you can reliably flash an SD card, debug ugly serial bus issues, and write clean Python that runs headless 24/7, we want to talk to you.

Tasks

• Develop and maintain Python edge agents on embedded Linux devices (ARM/Raspberry Pi class) with focus on reliability, telemetry, and updates
• Integrate payment terminals (e.g. MDB/ZVT) and ensure robust transaction flows, including error recovery
• Perform signal-level debugging using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
• Harden Linux images (systemd services, logging, boot behavior) with reproducible setups (e.g. Ansible)
• Contribute to testability and documentation through hardware-in-the-loop tests, protocol traces, and troubleshooting guides

Requirements

• Sound knowledge of computing and embedded systems — formal education is welcome but not required. What matters most is that you can demonstrate your skills, whether through GitHub projects, personal builds, open-source contributions, or a portfolio we can review
• Strong ability for abstract and analytical thinking
• Fluent in English, German is a plus
• Nice to have: Experience with MQTT, Docker, D-Bus/NetworkManager, oscilloscope/logic analyzer, or payment terminals/vending protocols
