At PNO Innovation, we help organisations secure European funding to accelerate the transition towards a more sustainable future. As a Junior Innovation Consultant, you will support the development of high-quality funding proposals for industrial companies, research organisations and public stakeholders working on the technologies that will shape tomorrow's energy systems.

Working alongside experienced consultants, you will contribute to proposal development, collaborate with international partners and gradually develop into an autonomous innovation consultant.

Support innovative organisations in securing European funding by contributing to competitive proposals and helping transform ambitious ideas into impactful energy and climate projects.

Your tasks 1st part (in max 4 bullets)

• Contribute to the preparation and submission of proposals across a wide range of European funding programmes, including Innovation Fund, Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), PCI/PMI initiatives, LIFE and Horizon Europe.
• Contribute to proposal development, including technical writing, partner coordination and administrative preparation.
• Research European funding opportunities and match client innovations with suitable funding calls.
• Support industrial companies and research organisations throughout the proposal preparation process.

• Assist in defining project concepts, work packages and project budgets.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Europe.
• Build knowledge of European funding programmes and the energy innovation landscape.
• Contribute to delivering high-quality consulting services for clients in the energy transition sector.

Your profile 1st part (in max 4 bullets)

• Around 1–2 years of experience in EU funding, innovation consulting or R&D project development.
• Exposure to European funding proposal writing and a strong motivation to develop proposal ownership.
• A degree in Engineering, Energy Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics or a related discipline is preferred. Candidates with Policy, Innovation Management or similar backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.
• Interest in energy transition topics such as industrial decarbonisation, renewable energy, clean technologies, circular economy, hydrogen or climate technologies.

• Excellent written and spoken English (C1 minimum) and fluent Italian.
• Strong analytical, writing and communication skills.
• Curious, proactive and eager to learn in a collaborative international environment.
• Comfortable working remotely while engaging regularly with colleagues and clients.
