Our client, one of Ireland’s leading structural steel contractors, is currently seeking a Junior Health & Safety Officer to join their team based in Kilkenny. The successful candidate will support ongoing structural steel projects while gaining valuable experience under the guidance of an experienced Health & Safety Manager, with occasional site visits required. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to develop their career within a well-established and safety-focused organisation.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the implementation and monitoring of health & safety policies and procedures
• Support risk assessments and method statement (RAMS) preparation and review
• Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards
• Identify hazards and support the development of mitigation measures
• Maintain health & safety documentation and records
• Assist in incident investigations and reporting
• Support toolbox talks and safety briefings
• Liaise with site teams and management to promote a strong safety culture
• Ensure compliance with relevant health & safety legislation and company policies

Requirements:

• Degree or qualification in Health & Safety or a related discipline
• Minimum 2+ years’ post-graduate experience in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations and best practices
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel to sites as required
