Then look no further, because our Finance team is looking for a Junior Financial Controller to grow within Accounting team!


The Finance team based in Papendrecht consists of 3 teams: Accounting and Reporting, Project Finance, and Tax. The Accounting & Reporting team is now looking for a Junior Financial Controller, who will collaborate closely with the GL Accountants on the analysis of financial figures and they will provide input on the annual financial statements. This is a broad financial role within a specialized team with a lot of potential for growth.

What you will do

  • Process financial and accounting transactions of GKN Fokker companies, including administratively handling the delivery of monthly figures and the closing of journal entries.
  • Prepare various reports including the period figures in the Group's consolidation package, ensuring the accuracy of the reported figures.
  • Maintain and improve balance sheet specifications including providing support for the delivery of internal control programs. Mentoring the GL Accountants to those improvements.
  • Assist with accounting issues and prepare accounting reports (e.g. impairment tests, valuation of inventory, provisions).
  • Prepare CBS returns and monthly accruals anad assist with intercompany reconciliation.
  • Assist with group and statutory audits.
  • Provide financial data and explanations for the year-end closing to both internal and external accountants.
  • Support the Finance Manager, ensuring compliance with the financial guidelines and regulations.
  • Perform additional ad hoc tasks to support the wider finance team.
  • Continuously strive for process improvement and efficiency within the finance department.
  • Working closely with the Senior Financial Controller for specific accounting topics.

What you will bring

  • A completed degree (HBO) in a relevant discipline (e.g. SPD opleiding) or MBO with several years of experience,
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the manufacturing sector,
  • Hands on experience in month-end close activities, very good understanding of all balance sheet accounts,
  • Can do mentality, ability to work in an international setting,
  • Fluent in both Dutch and English,
  • Work independently, team player, stakeholder management skills,
  • Strong communication skills and good reporting skills.
