We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly disciplined
Junior Finance Officer
to support the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of our financial operations. This role is critical to ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded correctly, reconciliations are completed promptly, and financial data remains reliable for reporting and decision-making. You will play a key role in maintaining strong financial controls across daily operations, supporting reporting processes, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards. This position requires a high level of accuracy, accountability, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, transaction-heavy environment.
Responsibilities
Perform
daily posting of financial transactions
into the accounting system with accuracy and timeliness.
Conduct
daily bank reconciliations
, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and discrepancies are promptly resolved.
Maintain and update the
fixed asset register
, ensuring proper tracking, tagging, and depreciation records.
Manage
petty cash and cash advances
, including disbursement, documentation, and reconciliation.
Assist in the preparation of
monthly management accounts and financial reports
.
Support
accounts payable and receivable processes
, ensuring timely invoicing and payments.
Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records for audit and compliance purposes.
Assist with
budget tracking and expense monitoring
to ensure adherence to approved budgets.
Support internal and external
audit processes
by preparing required documentation and schedules.
Monitor and ensure compliance with
financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
.
Assist in preparing
financial schedules, reconciliations, and variance analysis reports
.
Support senior finance team members with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting tasks.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data across systems and reports.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of experience in finance roles in the Financial services/finTech industry.
Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proficiency in
Microsoft Excel
and accounting software, especially
QuickBooks
.
Familiarity with
Core Banking Systems
is an added advantage.
ICAN (ATS / Foundation level / Part-qualified)
or equivalent professional certification is an added advantage.
Maintain meticulous attention to detail to support accurate and timely financial reporting.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
