Junior Field Guide Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated naturalist looking to advance your career in a spectacular, malaria-free Big Five wilderness? A premier luxury safari destination located in the heart of the rugged Waterberg mountains is seeking a passionate Junior Field Guide to join our professional guiding team. Set within a breathtaking sweeping landscape of sandstone cliffs, ancient valleys, and diverse bushveld, this role offers an incredible environment to hone your skills, learn from senior mentors, and deliver world-class wilderness experiences to international and local guests. Key Responsibilities Guided Experiences: Conduct interpretive morning and afternoon game drives, showcasing the area's rich biodiversity, including the Big Five, diverse birdlife, and unique geology. Guest Hosting: Host guests warmly at meals and during down-time, sharing insights into conservation, tracking, and the unique ecology of the Waterberg. Conservation & Safety: Adhere strictly to reserve ethical guiding codes, prioritize guest safety at all times, and assist with basic lodge/vehicle care. Children's Activities: Assist with specialized eco-educational activities or family safaris when required. Q Requirements Qualifications: NQF2 / Registrations & Licenses: Valid DEAT/CATHSSETA registration, valid PDP (Public Driver’s Permit), and a valid First Aid certificate. Firearms: AR (Advanced Rifle Handling) qualification is highly advantageous. Experience: 6 months to 2 years of experience in a commercial lodge environment (hospitality-focused) is preferred, but passionate newly qualified candidates with excellent hosting skills will be considered. Traits: Exceptional interpersonal skills, fluent English, an immaculate professional presentation, and a genuine love for remote bush living.
