About the Role

JDS Energy & Mining is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Field Engineer to support reclamation activities at the Mount Nansen Project, located in the Yukon. This is a camp-based, fly‑in/fly‑out (FIFO) position and presents an excellent opportunity for a co‑op student or recent graduate to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic mining and environmental setting. Working within the Reclamation Division, the Junior Field Engineer will assist with coordinating and monitoring field activities related to site restoration, earthworks, and environmental compliance. This role involves close collaboration with construction crews, environmental professionals, and project engineers to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Support field engineering and reclamation activities, including earthworks, grading, and site restoration
• Assist with survey layout, staking, and verification of construction and reclamation works
• Monitor daily field activities to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and environmental requirements
• Collect, record, and organize field data, including quantities, progress tracking, and site conditions
• Coordinate with site supervisors, contractors, and environmental teams to support efficient execution of work
• Participate in site inspections, hazard assessments, and daily safety meetings
• Maintain accurate field documentation, including reports, logs, and photographic records
• Assist with quality control and quality assurance processes
• Support material tracking, inventory, and reconciliation efforts
• Identify field issues and communicate them to senior engineers, proposing practical solutions where appropriate
• Ensure all work is conducted safely and in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
