Key Qualifications and Skills:

• Independence and Collaboration: Confident in working independently while also comfortable collaborating with a team, providing valuable input when necessary.
• Technical Acumen: Ability to read and comprehend construction, fabrication, and engineering drawings effectively.
• Project Delivery Understanding: Good grasp of practical project delivery and the ability to cost-engineer projects for efficient execution.
• Risk Identification: Skill in identifying project risks to facilitate their consideration and allocation during the tender stage.

As a Junior Estimator at Joseph Gallagher Limited's new Belfast office, your responsibilities will include:

• ITT Document Review: Receiving Invitation to Tender (ITT) documents and meticulously highlighting relevant tender information and related specifications to ensure compliant bids.
• Material Take Off Support: Assisting the Estimating team in conducting material take-offs from ITT documents.
• Bid Compliance: Collaborating with the Estimating team to ensure bid compliance with project specifications.
• Project Scheduling: Utilising Microsoft Project for programming of works.
• Estimation Software: Developing proficiency in using the Conquest estimating program.
• Cost Library Management: Maintaining the Cost library database to ensure up-to-date and current rates.
• Supplier Engagement: Sourcing new suppliers and nurturing relationships with existing ones to secure competitive market rates for plant and materials.
• Tender Review: Actively participating in weekly tender list review meetings or conference calls.
• Submission Document Compilation: Compiling compliant submission documents for tender packages, including programs of work, methodology, pricing, and terms and conditions.
• Site Visits: Conducting site visits to gain a thorough understanding of company expectations and the work we deliver.
• Commercial Training: Receiving training on contracts and commercial aspects.
• JGL Life Induction: Participating in the JGL Life program induction to integrate into our company culture.
