Yara Fertilizers India Pvt Ltd is a 100% subsidiary of Yara International ASA. Yara has supplied fertilizers as well as fertilizer raw materials to the Indian market for over two decades. Yara India has continuously strengthened its footprint in Western and Southern India by providing Crop nutrition solutions with combination of Premium products and Knowledge through unique Farmer centric approach.

Yara’s philosophy is to connect with thousands of farmers at the grass root level and has a strong commitment to serving the agriculture sector in India, thereby improving the livelihood of Indian farmer.To leverage on this and to expand into the northern & eastern geographies of India, Yara acquired Tata Chemicals’ 1.2 MN MT Urea plant in UP, Northern India. With this acquisition Yara India’s scale of operation has grown significantly.

Responsibilities

Electrical Maintenance & Reliability

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment as per maintenance plans and schedules.
  • Install, inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems and components including motors, transformers, DG sets, lighting systems, wiring, and associated equipment.
  • Operate and maintain Fire Alarm, Cathodic Protection, and Public Address systems.
  • Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documents for maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Calibrate electrical instruments and equipment as per defined specifications.
  • Maintain hand tools, testing instruments, jigs, and fixtures in safe and serviceable condition.
  • Ensure availability of critical spare parts and maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, safety, and operational efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives.

Safety, Compliance & Operational Excellence

  • Conduct regular safety inspections to identify and eliminate unsafe conditions and unsafe acts.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is carried out through approved Permit to Work (PTW), Safe Job Analysis (SJA), Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA), and other applicable safety procedures.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Comply with departmental ISO, EHS, and statutory requirements and support internal and external audits.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping before, during, and after maintenance activities.
  • Use, maintain, and promote the proper use of PPE and safety equipment.
  • Train and guide new employees and contractors on safe work practices and procedures.

Other Responsibilities

  • Participate in cross-functional teams, committees, and improvement projects.
  • Support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for equipment failures and audit observations.
  • Suggest and implement improvements to enhance electrical system safety, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Coordinate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure uninterrupted plant operations.

Preferred Skills

  • Sound knowledge of industrial electrical maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Good understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
  • Familiarity with electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of motors, transformers, DG sets, switchgear, and HT/LT electrical systems (up to 11 kV).
  • Working knowledge of Fire Alarm, Cathodic Protection, and Public Address systems.
  • Understanding of electrical safety standards, Permit to Work (PTW), LOTO, HIRA, and Safe Job Analysis (SJA).
  • Basic computer proficiency with MS Office and maintenance management systems
  • Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Education & Experience

Education

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a Government-recognized University/Institute.
  • Minimum 60% marks in 10th Standard, 12th Standard, and Diploma in Electrical Engineering.

Experience

  • 3–6 years of relevant experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing or process industry.
  • Experience in the Fertilizer, Chemical, Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, or other continuous process industries will be preferred.
