Junior ECC Veterinary Nurse | Part-time | CARE, Collingwood

No prior ECC experience required - just curiosity, commitment, and a willingness to learn. At CARE, we are passionate about supporting nurses who are keen to learn Emergency and Critical Care nursing in a positive, well-supported environment.

Working alongside a friendly, experienced team of veterinarians and nurses, you’ll receive comprehensive exposure caring for a diverse and rewarding caseload in our busy Emergency department, developing advanced veterinary nursing skills, and building your confidence in clinical practice.

We are seeking a Cert IV qualified Veterinary Nurse with foundational clinical experience who is enthusiastic about developing their skills in emergency and critical care. You will be supported every step of the way through structured training, mentorship, and hands-on learning.

The role

This position is permanent part time with flexible hours, we are happy to work with the successful applicant to support a healthy work-life balance. Shifts may include a mix of day, evening, overnight, and weekend work. Our rosters are designed to support learning and wellbeing, with above award remuneration and significant shift loadings for all shifts worked outside standard weekday daytime hours.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Providing compassionate and holistic nursing care to emergency and hospitalised patients
  • Learning and developing triage skills to successfully maintain work flow through the hospital
  • Assisting with procedures, anaesthesia, and surgery under guidance and supervision
  • Exposure to specialists in emergency, medicine and surgery
  • Sample collection and in-house laboratory testing, complemented by advanced diagnostic tools including ultrasound, endoscopy and CT
  • Undertake specific front-desk duties outside of normal reception hours and provide clear, compassionate support to clients via telephone
