The Project:


Sydney Metro West is a transformational 24 km underground railway connecting Sydney CBD to Parramatta, with stations at Westmead, Parramatta, Sydney Olympic Park, North Strathfield, Burwood North, Five Dock, The Bays, Pyrmont and Hunter Street.

The Linewide package connects the entire system, delivering the critical rail infrastructure and technology that bring the metro network to life.

Project offices are located across several Sydney locations including the CBD, Clyde, Rosehill, The Bays and Burwood North.

The Role:

Our Sydney Metro West Linewide Project is currently seeking a Junior Document Controller to join the Engineering and Design function, this role will see you working as part of a team and asssiting the Document Controllers. This role will report directly to the Engineering & Design Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Document Control Team in keeping up-to-date records of work progress.
  • Assisting with compiling of lot records, chase and close out missing information when required.
  • Asssiting with internal logs for tracking various document control activities.
  • Organize and track the exchange of documents between all relevant parties, such as clients, subcontractors, and the project office.
  • Verify that all document submissions are consistent with project branding and format requirements.
  • Managing the distribution, collection, and processing of documents in line with project guidelines for the creation, evaluation, and approval of design documents and other necessary materials, instructions, certifications, and records.
  • Managing of the storage and filing of project and company records.
  • Conduct on-site checks and reviews to ensure project standards are met.

About You:

  • A relevant qualification in Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources or other associated disciplines.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in document control and administrative duties, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Experience with records management.
  • Knowledge of project management systems and processes.
  • Experience in project environment or equivalent industry.
  • Aconex experience.
  • Experience with document control and procurement software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a keen attention to detail.
