As an intern, you’ll work alongside our experienced practitioners and with our clients and communities. This hands-on experience will equip you with practical skills, build your network, and provide opportunities that set you up for success.

Your Opportunity

We have an opportunity for an Intern Junior Cost Controller to join our Vancouver Buildings group.

This is a great opportunity for a motivated, energetic individual who wants to challenge their abilities in a dynamic work environment.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the preparation of the required management plans and ensure follow-up and control to identify discrepancies.
  • Provide support to the project team with budget and forecast management during execution to accurate reflect project status.
  • Support Senior Management with cost control reporting while adhering to company standards.
  • Provide support for the development of the detailed work breakdown structure (WBS) and cost breakdown structure (CBS) of projects.
  • Generate all required project status reports for internal management and for the client, including the overall project Dashboard, project performance report (Earned Value, SPI, CPI, etc.)
  • Provide support for project financial analytics.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and assignments.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong project financial capabilities obtained through experience or education.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, and resourcefulness.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to successfully work both collaboratively and independently.
  • Experience with MS Office including Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Advance skills with MS Excel.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI is advantageous.

Education and Experience

  • Working towards a business degree.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
