Die Porsche Werkzeugbau GmbH kann auf eine 125-jährige Geschichte zurückblicken. In Fortführung der Traditionen im Erzgebirge, der Verarbeitung von Metallen, wurde das Unternehmen 1898 gegründet. Der Handwerksbetrieb entwickelte sich zu einem marktführenden Unternehmen, das in kürzester Zeit über die regionalen Grenzen hinaus bekannt wurde. Von dem Unternehmen ging die Entwicklung von Schneid- und Umformwerkzeugen für die Automobilindustrie aus, so dass man mit Fug und Recht von dem Unternehmen als der „Wiege des Großwerkzeugbaus“ in Deutschland spricht.
Am 3. August 2015 wurde der Werkzeugbau als 100% Tochter von der Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG übernommen und firmiert seit dem als Porsche Werkzeugbau GmbH in Schwarzenberg und als Porsche Werkzeugbau s.r.o. in Dubnica (Slowakei). Auch für andere namhafte Automobilhersteller stellt der Porsche Werkzeugbau komplexeste Werkzeuge her. Zudem wird das Serviceangebot, von der Einarbeitung bis hin zur regelmäßigen Wartung stetig erweitert.
