About the Role

The Junior Configuration Specialist supports configuration-management activities throughout the product lifecycle by maintaining controlled product data, technical documentation, engineering changes and configuration records. The role works under the guidance of experienced configuration and engineering personnel to help preserve product integrity, traceability and compliance across engineering, production and customer programmes.

Please note that this is a fixed term contract (3 Months).

Qualification and experience:

• National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Configuration Management, Technical Data Management or a related technical discipline.
• 1–3 years’ experience in configuration management, product data management, technical documentation control or a similar engineering-support environment.
• Exposure to engineering development, production or customer-support programmes will be advantageous.
• Foundational knowledge of configuration-management principles, engineering change control, product structures and technical documentation.
• Exposure to a quality-managed or regulated engineering environment will be advantageous.
• Experience using Product Data Management or Product Lifecycle Management systems will be advantageous.

Key responsibilities:

Configuration Management Support

Support the implementation and maintenance of configuration-management plans, processes and records across assigned products and programmes to ensure configuration activities follow approved requirements, resulting in consistent and controlled configuration-management practices.

Configuration Identification and Change Control

Maintain product identification, configuration baselines and engineering-change records under appropriate technical guidance to ensure approved changes are correctly documented and implemented, resulting in accurate and controlled product definitions.

Configuration Status and Data Management

Capture, maintain and report configuration data, product structures, baselines, release information and engineering-change status within approved systems to provide reliable configuration visibility, resulting in accurate records and improved traceability.

Configuration Auditing and Compliance

Support configuration audits, documentation reviews and non-conformance follow-up activities against customer, contractual and quality requirements to identify and resolve record discrepancies, resulting in compliant and audit-ready configuration information.

Operational Support and Process Improvement

Provide configuration administration and documentation support to engineering, production and customer programmes while identifying routine process improvements to strengthen data control and workflow efficiency, resulting in reliable operational support and improved configuration practices.
