About the role

AMS is seeking a Junior Compliance Specialist to join our team and support the ongoing compliance and quality requirements of our aviation operations.

This is a hands-on junior role suited to someone who is highly organised, detail-focused and interested in developing a career in compliance, quality assurance or aviation operations.

Working alongside our compliance and operational teams, you will assist with audits, document reviews, records management and routine compliance activities to help ensure requirements are being met across the business.

This position provides an opportunity to develop practical compliance experience while working within established processes, systems and procedures, with support and guidance from experienced members of the team.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with manual compliance audits and routine compliance checks using established processes and requirements.
  • Review operational and compliance documentation to ensure information is accurate, complete and current.
  • Check records, registers and supporting documentation and identify missing or inconsistent information.
  • Assist with compliance monitoring across periodic support and compliance products.
  • Maintain accurate compliance records, registers, spreadsheets and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with preparing documentation, reports, proposals and other compliance related documentation..
  • Follow up outstanding documentation and actions with relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist with internal audits and other compliance and emergency management activities as directed.
  • Assist with maintaining compliance databases, document management systems and other compliance records.
  • Ensure compliance documentation is appropriately filed, controlled and readily accessible.
  • Provide general administrative and coordination support to the compliance and emergency management function.
  • Undertake other compliance-related tasks as required.

About you

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ideally the successful candidate will have experience in or a fundamental understanding of aerodrome operations, documentation systems and compliance
  • Methodical and comfortable working through documents, records and checklists.
  • Able to follow established processes and procedures accurately.
  • Confident identifying missing information, discrepancies or items requiring follow-up.
  • Comfortable undertaking detailed and repetitive work while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Competent using Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Able to understand, interpret and navigate compliance requirements, guidelines and standards, including the Part 139 Manual of Standards and other relevant CASA documentation.
  • A clear and professional communicator.
  • Able to work independently while also contributing to a wider team.
  • Willing to learn and develop their knowledge of compliance requirements and processes.
  • Interested in building a career in compliance, quality assurance, aviation or a related field.
  • Previous experience in aerodrome operations, compliance, auditing, administration, quality assurance, aviation or another regulated environment would be advantageous, but is not essential for the right candidate.
