Our client is one of Hong Kong's largest and most pre-eminent law firms, advising on the full range of complex deals, disputes and transactional work arising from Hong Kong and Mainland China. The firm fosters a diverse, supportive and inclusive working environment and invests heavily in the development of its people, so both individual and firm benefit from that growth. An opening has arisen for a junior commercial litigation and arbitration lawyer to join its general commercial litigation team.
You will work closely with colleagues across a broad range of commercial disputes, including complex and high-stakes commercial litigation, property litigation (not construction), international arbitration, and tech-related and financial services regulatory investigations. Day to day, you will support the team on disputes and regulatory advisory matters, conduct legal research and analysis on Hong Kong and cross-border disputes, draft pleadings, regulatory responses and client correspondence, and liaise with clients, counsel and professional advisers under appropriate supervision.
Candidates should be Hong Kong-qualified with 2 to 3 years' post-qualification experience in general litigation and dispute resolution, ideally with prior experience at an international law firm or top-tier domestic firm. A solid foundation in general commercial dispute resolution is essential, along with excellent written and spoken English and Cantonese (traditional Chinese); fluency in Mandarin would be a bonus. Experience in arbitration and financial services disputes is highly advantageous, as are strong commercial acumen, client management and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work under pressure as part of a close-knit team.
