We are looking for a driven and commercially minded Junior Freight Charterer to join our Freight team. In this role, you will support and execute spot market chartering activities at a regional level, working closely with internal teams and external market participants.

About the Role

Your main responsibilities will include:

Chartering & Execution

• Execute vessel chartering (in/out) within your assigned region with increasing independence;
• Develop strong knowledge of Charter Party terms and technical shipping aspects;
• Collaborate closely with Operations, Logistics, Pricing, and Chartering teams;
• Engage with brokers, ship owners, and third-party charterers to execute deals effectively;
• Ensure timely and accurate trade capture in internal systems;
• Monitor vessel positions, market activity, and freight spreads;
• Provide market insights and updates to internal stakeholders;
• Support smooth operational execution across the value chain.

Market & Trading Insight

• Build understanding of regional supply and demand drivers;
• Monitor and communicate spot market developments proactively;
• Develop knowledge of freight derivatives (FFAs) and pricing models;
• Show curiosity and engagement in broader trading strategies and market dynamics.

What We’re Looking For

Are you a strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills? Do you have a ‘can-do’ attitude with a proactive mindset? Combined with an ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure environment, your background includes:

• University degree in Business or a related field;
• Experience in Sales, Business Development, Trading, or fast-paced commercial environments;
• Strong analytical, communications, and negotiation skills;
• Ability to make decisions under pressure;
• Fluent in English (required); French and/or Spanish is a plus.
