Job Purpose:
Creating design intended 3D models for vehicle exteriors and interiors. Leading the project by transforming creative design sketches into production-feasible digital models.
Responsibilities:
Collaborating with design, program management & studio engineering for the right inputs, project timelines and quality requirements.
Proficient and independent in creation of digital 3D models to the design intent & engineering requirements
Lead design & engineering convergence activities to ensure the technical implementations to the satisfaction of design and quality
Present and deliver the design quality math models as per the release standards with respect to milestones of the project
Support the Clay/physical modellers for preparation of Clay/Mock-up data. As well, ensure that the physical mock-up is made respecting the digital model.
Benchmarking competitor vehicles for mapping of best practices and quality standards to propose robust solutions and enhance the product quality.
As a developer and a passionate data geek, you have at least 3 years of practical experience in data science.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or Master’s in Transportation Design/Industrial Design/ Product Design/Mechanical engineering
8 to 12+ years of automobile creative and production surfacing experience; hands-on experience across 5 full-cycle vehicle development projects
Professional ability: Excellent creative digital modelling abilities; good understanding of the forms; reading design themes and brand DNA; familiar with automotive design and development process; proficient with sub divisional and Nurbs/Bezier modelling; good understanding of Autodesk Alias software;
Fluent communication skills in English and demonstrate core values of the company
Key Interactions: Interact with all design functions as needed
Exterior/Interior designers, Design project managers, Studio Engineering, Design quality, Clay/Physical modellers and others
