Are you an enthusiastic CAD Draftsperson looking to launch or grow your career in custom manufacturing? Do you have strong foundational skills in AutoCAD and SolidWorks? Join Teknion Custom Solutions, a leading wood office furniture manufacturer in Calgary.

The junior CAD Draftsperson position assists in the creation of accurate production drawing packages for executive office furniture components and assemblies. Working under direct supervision, this role will support manufacturing processes and product maintenance while developing their technical skill set.

Key Responsibilities

• Create production drawings, product symbols and engineering models as directed by the CAD/CAM Manager.
• Ensure all drawings adhere to Teknion internal standards, ISO requirements, and quality process guidelines.
• Work with the CAD/CAM team to draft design concepts, presentation drawings, and work order packages for manufacturing.
• Assist in maintaining and managing product models in various programs, including 2020 Construct 15 (Imos), Insight, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks—to support production, symbols and installation guide creation.
• Support product line updates, enhancements, testing, and customization tasks.
• Liaise with manufacturing teams and suppliers under guidance to verify that drawings reflect actual production capabilities.
• Assist in updating the CAD database by archiving out-of-date drawings and processing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Design, or a related drafting discipline.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in 2D/3D AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• 2+ years of practical drafting and detailing experience.
• SolidWorks certification (CSWA or CSWP) or AutoCAD certification preferred.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks PDM systems and proficiency in Google Sheets, Docs, etc.
• Basic understanding of standard manufacturing processes, technical drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative team attitude.
