Job Description
Purchasing
- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers for materials, components, and services.
- Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings.
- Monitor supplier performance (delivery, quality, responsiveness).
- Resolve supply issues, shortages, and discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records in ERP systems.
Planning (Material / Production Planning)
- Analyze demand forecasts and create material requirement plans (MRP).
- Plan inventory levels to meet production needs while minimizing excess stock.
- Coordinate with production, warehouse, and logistics teams on scheduling.
- Monitor stock levels and take action to avoid stock outs or overstock.
- Adjust plans based on changes in demand, supply disruptions, or production priorities.
Supplier & Stakeholder Coordination
- Communicate with suppliers regarding delivery schedules and changes.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Production, Engineering, QA, Finance).
- Support new product introductions and sourcing activities.
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare reports on purchasing trends, cost savings, and inventory status.
- Analyze data to improve planning accuracy and procurement efficiency.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in supply chain processes.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in purchasing, planning, or supply chain functions (depending on seniority level).
- Strong understanding of planning and purchasing item attributes within Oracle ERP system.
- Proven negotiation skills with the ability to manage and develop supplier relationships effectively.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a wide range of detailed and diverse tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Capability to integrate cross-functional knowledge, including manufacturing processes, customer service requirements, accounting principles, product design, and ERP system functionalities.
- Due to business needs, proficiency in both English and Mandarin (written and verbal) is preferred.
