Job Description

This position is responsible for material sourcing and maintaining positive supplier relationships while ensuring consistent quality of product at economic prices to support company needs. The Jr. Buyer will summarize and report progress and/or roadblocks to management and will also be responsible for special projects such as supplier sourcing/resourcing, supply chain optimization and cost reductions.

Key Deliverables and Responsibilities:

• Lead the supplier quoting process including both external supplier communication, internal analysis, tracking and supplier sourcing
• Issue new purchase orders and maintain/update purchase orders for price changes. Manage the supplier requisition system for multiple departments and plants
• Resolve invoice discrepancies and payment with accounting
• Maintain productive working relationships with suppliers and internal departments
• Facilitate timely escalation of critical supplier issues
• Identify, negotiate and implement cost savings and report monthly
• Display a high level of internal customer service
• Works with material planners to ensure that all raw materials are available to meet schedules
• Assess supplier capabilities on quality, delivery and commercial capability
• Manage special projects including supplier research and analysis, improvement activities and cost studies

Education and Experience

• 0-2 years of experience in Supply Chain or related field
• A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, Program Management or related field is preferred

Training and Skills:

• Fluency in English required (verbal and written). Abilities in additional languages, particularly French preferred but not required
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer skills
• Understanding and ability to perform basic business, cost/benefit and financial analysis
• Ability to communicate professionally with people within and outside of the organization
• Planning and organization skills
• Ability to work as part of a team

Travel Requirements:

• Candidate will be required to travel to all locations where the company conducts business. Travel may occur over weekends.

Salary range: $58,000 - $70,000
