Job Description
Audubon is currently seeking a Junior Buyer to join our team in our Houston, TX Office. The Junior Buyer will support sourcing, purchasing, vendor coordination, purchase order management, pricing analysis, and procurement reporting. This position offers hands-on experience in supply chain operations while helping the company identify smarter, faster, and more efficient ways to manage purchasing activities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with sourcing materials, equipment, supplies, and services based on business needs.
- Create, review, and track purchase orders to ensure timely processing and delivery.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, lead times, order status, and delivery issues.
- Compare supplier quotes and support cost analysis to help identify best-value purchasing options.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier information, pricing data, and purchase documentation.
- Support vendor onboarding, qualification, and performance tracking.
- Monitor open purchase orders and follow up on delays, discrepancies, or backorders.
- Work with internal departments to clarify purchasing requirements and resolve order-related questions.
- Use AI tools and digital platforms to improve data analysis, reporting, supplier research, and process efficiency.
- Assist with market research, spend analysis, and procurement reporting.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the purchasing and supply chain process.
- Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies, approval procedures, and ethical sourcing standards.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Recent college graduate or 0–2 years of procurement, supply chain, purchasing, or business operations experience.
- Interest in procurement, vendor management, cost analysis, and supply chain operations.
- Experience using AI tools, automation platforms, or data analysis tools in academic, internship, or work settings.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and general business systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on details.
- Comfortable learning ERP, procurement, inventory, or purchasing systems.
- Professional, proactive, and willing to ask questions and learn from senior team members.
- Able to work five days per week in office.
