Partnering closely with the Institutional Sales and Compliance teams, you will help facilitate sustainable business growth by ensuring that client relationships are assessed through a pragmatic, risk-based lens while meeting the Bank's regulatory obligations.

This role sits at the intersection of business and risk. You will work directly with front-office teams, providing practical guidance throughout the client onboarding and lifecycle, balancing commercial objectives with sound risk management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and assess account opening requests for institutional clients, primarily for operating companies, financial institutions and other external partners, with a focus on AML/CTF, sanctions, reputational, tax compliance and cross-border risks.
  • Act as a trusted risk partner to the Sales Department by providing timely, pragmatic and risk-based advice on prospective and existing client relationships.
  • Conduct tax compliance assessments, including FATCA, CRS and Qualified Intermediary (QI) requirements.
  • Perform periodic reviews of existing client relationships, particularly financial institutions and external partners.
  • Conduct transaction monitoring activities for a designated portfolio of financial institution clients.
  • Participate in meetings with prospective and existing clients where Business Risk Management input is required.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Compliance and other internal stakeholders to facilitate efficient onboarding while maintaining appropriate risk standards.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of onboarding processes, risk controls and internal procedures.

Qualifications

  • Good knowledge of, or a strong interest in, the Swiss regulatory framework applicable to financial institutions, including the Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA), AMLO-FINMA, the Swiss Banks' Code of Conduct (CDB 20), sanctions regulations and relevant FINMA guidance.
  • Experience in Business Risk Management, Compliance, AML/KYC or another control function within the financial services industry is an asset.
  • Strong interest in working closely with front-office teams in a dynamic, business-oriented environment.
  • Understanding of tax compliance frameworks such as FATCA, CRS and QI is an advantage.
  • University degree in Law, Economics, Finance or a related field is an asset.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make balanced, risk-based decisions while considering commercial objectives.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage constructively with both business and control functions.
  • High level of integrity, professional judgement and discretion.
  • Fluency in English and French is required. German or another language is considered an asset.
