The opportunity

We are looking for a Junior Business Analyst to join our Finance team in Sydney. As our Junior Business Analyst, you will support the financial planning and analysis of the Pacific Brand Company by preparing reports, analysing data, and providing insights to senior management. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. You will partner closely with budget holders and cross-functional stakeholders to provide financial insights, challenge expenditure, identify opportunities and risks, and support business decision-making.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in finance or accounting, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for working collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Analyse and challenge monthly overhead expenditure to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency.

  • Prepare and interpret monthly trading results, providing recommendations on business opportunities or risks.

  • Contribute to the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans, ensuring deadlines are met.

  • Support the Finance Manager in ensuring accurate reporting of Profit from Recurring Operations and other financial metrics.

  • Manage and maintain data integrity in financial systems, including E1 (JDE), Polaris, and Power BI.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of financial reporting tools and Power BI dashboards.

What you will bring to the role

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications Commerce, Finance or Accounting

  • 1-2 years of experience in a finance role within a large corporate or FMCG environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, with knowledge of BI tools like Power BI being a plus.

  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • A proactive mindset with the ability to analyse information, draw meaningful conclusions, and provide actionable recommendations.
