Responsibilities

• Oversee the design and development of BIW components and assemblies (closures, underbody, structure)
• Ensure compliance with performance targets (crashworthiness, durability, stiffness, weight, cost)
• Manage project timelines, milestones, and KPIs across the product development lifecycle
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Suppliers)
• Drive design reviews and technical decision-making processes
• Ensure application of engineering standards, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Support industrialization phase, including manufacturability and feasibility assessments
• Monitor and optimize design through CAE validation and test feedback loops

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or a related engineering field
• 2 years experience in Body in White (BIW) engineering (design and/or integration)
• Strong proficiency in CAD tools (CATIA V5/V6 or Siemens NX)
• Experience with PLM systems
• Knowledge of CAE tools
• Familiarity with sheet metal design, stamping, and forming processes
• Understanding of GD&T, DFMEA, APQP, PPAP, and automotive development processes
• Project management and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in an international environment
