What do we need?

We're looking for a motivated Junior Backend Engineer to join our team and grow their skills in building modern backend systems. You'll work alongside experienced developers and gain hands-on experience with Kotlin, Java, Spring Boot, and cloud technologies This is a great opportunity to deepen your backend development knowledge while contributing to real-world projects.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Learn: Assist in the development and maintenance of backend services and APIs using Java/Kotlin and the Spring ecosystem.
  • Work closely with senior developers, product managers, frontend engineers and QA engineers to understand requirements and deliver high-quality features.
  • Write unit and integration tests, help identify bugs, and participate in troubleshooting and debugging sessions.
  • Learn to optimize code for performance and scalability with guidance from senior team members.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and support materials.
  • Join code reviews, sprint planning, and agile ceremonies to grow your understanding of software development best practices.

Requirements:

  • Some experience (internship, academic or personal projects) in backend development using Java or Kotlin. Ideally, at least one year.
  • Basic understanding of Spring Boot and RESTful APIs.
  • Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and basic SQL.
  • Interest in learning about event-driven architectures (SQS, Kafka), CI/CD, and DevOps.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a collaborative team environment.
  • Good communication skills in English (B2+) and Spanish
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or currently pursuing one).


Nice to Have (but not required):

  • Exposure to Docker, GitHub Actions, or AWS
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
