Job Mission:

As Junior Area Sales Manager, you will be supported by an internal tutor while developing your sales capabilities and contributing to the growth of Piab’s Vacuum Automation product portfolio across Northwestern Italy. You will learn to build strong customer and partner relationships, identify new business opportunities, and manage a sales pipeline to support agreed sales and margin targets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contribute to sales growth for the Vacuum Automation product portfolio across Northwestern Italy.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with OEMs, system integrators, distributors, and end customers, with support from the internal tutor and wider sales team.
  • Identify new business opportunities in target industries such as automation, packaging, robotics, automotive, electronics, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, logistics, and general manufacturing.
  • Support the building and management of a strong sales pipeline to achieve agreed sales and margin targets.
  • Conduct customer visits, technical discussions, product presentations, and solution demonstrations with guidance when needed.
  • Learn to understand customer applications and propose suitable vacuum automation solutions with support from technical teams.
  • Work closely with internal teams including customer service, marketing, product management, engineering, and operations to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, customer needs, and business opportunities.
  • Support and develop channel partners through joint customer visits, product training, sales planning, and opportunity follow-up.
  • Prepare regular sales forecasts, visit reports, pipeline updates, and business development plans.
  • Participate in trade shows, customer events, and industry exhibitions when required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Active listening skills and the ability to understand customer needs and applications.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned region, approximately 70% of the time.
  • Technical diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field.
  • Good English and fluent Italian are must-haves.
